The Florida Gulf Coast Chapter is responsible for delivering green building education in the form of USGBC's LEED Workshops as part of our mission.

The Core Concepts workshop below fulfills the GBCI eligibility requirement to take the LEED Green Associate Exam, which is the required first step in becoming a LEED AP! Also known as LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies, this course provides essential knowledge of sustainable building concepts that are fundamental to all LEED Rating Systems. The core of the workshop presents LEED intents and concepts at the credit category level - across building types and rating systems - touching on strategies, synergies, and specific examples that are reinforced by real project cases. Key LEED metrics and LEED referenced standards are addressed throughout the workshop


LEED 201: Core Concepts & Strategies - live workshop

This workshop is intended for anyone who wants more than a basic understanding of LEED – including those with a stake in their company’s or community’s building practices, those directly involved in green building projects, and those pursuing GBCI’s LEED Green Associate credential.



BD+C 251: Understanding the Building Design + Construction LEED Rating Systems

Gain essential knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems, including credit intents, requirements, and referenced standards; synergies among credits; and foundations of the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursing the LEED AP BD+C exam.



BD+C 301: Implementing the Building Design + Construction LEED Rating Systems

Learn how to apply the LEED BD+C rating systems, with LEED for New Construction as the focus, by walking through the phases and key decision points of a typical project. Engage with experience LEED Faculty and other participants to work hands-on with LEED implementation strategies and rating system tools.



O+M 251: Understanding the Operations + Maintenance LEED Rating System

This workshop introduces the credit intents, key elements, main requirements, and reference standards of the Green Building Operations + Maintenance (O+M) LEED rating system. Workshop participants will gain a solid understanding of the core concepts and strategies behind a successful existing green building project.



O+M 301: Implementing the Operations + Maintenance LEED Rating Systems

Learn how to apply the LEED for Existing Buildings : Operations & Maintenance ratign system by walking through the phases and key decision points of a typical project. Engage with experienced LEED Faculty and other participants to work hands-in with LEEED implementation strategies and rating systems tools.
